Unanswered Question

is it possible to set up a home lab with one router acting as a mpls switch? I know this can be done for frame-relay but what about mpls?

I have this problem too.

Hi rajibchicago,

MPLS work both in frame and ATM mode with a little configuration difference.

You can configure MPLS by enable them on the interfaces of the router provide your IOS support Cisco express forwarding and MPLS

Command

In the configuration mode

IP CEF

In the interface mode

MPLS IP

MPLS label protocol LDP

It is simple but to understand the functioning of MPLS you need 3 to 4 level 3 devices.
