Has anyone ever seen this? In the output of a "show interface g0/0" on my 3825 router I am seeing a lot of "unknown protocol drops". Oddly enough it is the same number of broadcasts. This is causing an off-site location to record 13 percent loss.

Hi,
I guess you are using IOS 12.4-7x or anything higher than 12.4-13x
This line is not available in 12.4-13x. not sure which releases this line started.
I did see this in 3800 series FE interface connecting to WAN but after thorough investigation I couldn't find what causing it. Wireshark didn't show what causing it. I don't experience any problem though.
Yes, they accumulate the same number as broadcast.
Regards,
Dandy

Yes, this is the IOS Release we are running. "Cisco IOS Software, 3800 Software (C3825-ADVENTERPRISEK9_SNA-M), Version 12.4(19), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)". It is the outside interface to a WAN link which we tunnel through to our main site.
