Right at the end of the ICND1 Cisco book and nearly ready for the exam but I have a few areas which need ironing out. One of those is RIP2 and Autosummarization/Manual Summarization.
According to Cisco, when enabling RIP2 on a router, only classful networks are allowed to be configured. i.e 10.0.0.0 or 172.168.0.0. As you know RIP2 supports Autosummarization and Manual Summarization. So is it a case that Autosummarization is the default for RIP2, hence why if a classless network was entered, autosummarization changes the network to a classful network?

Very useful! Thanks a lot! So network Autosummarization for RIP2 is default!
