How relevant are GUIs

I've just been through the ISCW material and wonder how relevant learning about the SDM is at a CCNP level. I thought the SDM was created to help people without Cisco experience. I also can't imagine any circumstances where I would go to a client network and use SDM to configure anything. I like the new topics in ISCW, especially MPLS, but I think the SDM configurations are a bit of a waste of time.

There is a lot of SDM / ASDM usage in the some of the CCSP track exams too.

After going to all the hard work to learn the CLI, using a wizard seems like cheating.

Hi Andres

Although I would agree that I would also prefer the CLI over SDM any day of the week, it is in the course material so you can bet that it will show up on the exam.

So learn it for the exam and then forget about it. That's what I plan to do when I start into ISCW myself.

Best Regards,
