Will this work?

I have a 1100 series AP on my LAN. I have a 2511 access server on the other side of my house that is isolated from my LAN. I want to connect the 2511's ethernet port to a 350 AP in hopes that I can now access the 2511 from my LAN.

I am guessing that if I configure the same SSID and Encrytion along with IPs that are valid on my LAN subnet that it will work.

Am I wrong?

Thank you!

This should help. You need a WGB or a wireless bridge that connects to a hub/switch.

Thank you very much.

Can anyone else please confirm if this will work.

I appreciate it!

This is almost exactly what I need...

Only difference is that my Root Access Point is an 1100 and my WGB is a 350. In that diagram both WAPs are 1240s. Does anyone know if my devices offer this functionality?

Thank you VERY MUCH!

I found this but, what is the difference between an access point, a wireless bridge and a workgroup bridge?

It doesn't matter what AP you have, it matters if the WGB does what you want it to do. If your 350 is a WGB, then you are in luck....

It looks like I will have to do some role reversal for my APs per this info:

Q. What Autonomous IOS APs can act as a WGB?

A. The AP1100, AP1130, AP200, AP1240, and BR1310 all support WGB mode of operation. The AP350 and the BR1400 do not support WGB.

Sort of a bummer that I will have to downgrade my LAN from 54M to 11M but, I guess I can deal with it until I find a cheap 1100.

Thanks again!
