HI Joseph, [Pls Rate if HELPS]

>> Confirm whether you LAN Traffic can reach the destination via Router

>> Trace to the Router and check whether the trace completed

>> See in Router whether any ICMP Block has been configured for the LAN Switch IP Segments

Kind of hard to assist without knowing how you are connected.

Is the switch directly connected to the router?

Is the interface us?

Are you trunking between the Router and Switch?

Do you have the correct encapsulation between the two?

What is the set-up and what is desired?

Hi,

There are Riverbed and Packet Shaper in between the switch and router. From the PS, I can ping and trace route to both the switch and router. So, the logical connection is something like below:

LAN Core SW ->Riverbed -> Packet Shaper -> Router

sw01>ping 23.252.254.116

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 23.252.254.116, timeout is 2 seconds:

.....

Success rate is 0 percent (0/5)

sw01>

sw01>sh ip ro 23.252.254.116

Routing entry for 23.252.254.112/29

Known via "connected", distance 0, metric 0 (connected, via interface)

Routing Descriptor Blocks:

* directly connected, via FastEthernet3/3

Route metric is 0, traffic share count is 1

sw01>sh int FastEthernet3/3

FastEthernet3/3 is up, line protocol is up (connected)

Hardware is C6k 100Mb 802.3, address is 0007.b355.5000 (bia 0007.b355.5000)

Description: rt05 fa0/0 (Through Riverbed/Packershaper)

Internet address is 23.252.254.115/29

rt05#ping sw01

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 10.100.29.190, timeout is 2 seconds:

!!!!!

Success rate is 100 percent (5/5), round-trip min/avg/max = 1/1/4 ms

rt05#sh ip ro sw01

Routing entry for 10.100.29.190/32

Known via "ospf 49", distance 110, metric 2, type intra area

Last update from 23.252.254.115 on FastEthernet0/0, 01:22:45 ago

Routing Descriptor Blocks:

* 23.252.254.115, from 10.100.29.190, 01:22:45 ago, via FastEthernet0/0
