Clear Counters causes MGCP VG to failover to backup CM.

I have 2 MGCP Voice Gateways and on one of them if I issue the Clear Counters command it causes it to failover to it's backup CM before switching back some 15-20 seconds later. No calls are disconnected but new inbound calls get engaged/busy whilst this anomaly does it's thing!

The other VG remains stable when this command is issued as you would expect.

Here is the limited output I see on the "jumpy" VG when the counters are cleared....

Anyone any ideas on this random behaviour! Configs are identical and they are both running SP Services 12.4(7c).

I know the answer is don't clear the counters but I have people wanting to know why!

Cheers

Andrew

This can be because of the clock slips happening in your interface.

follow the configuration given below and try troubleshooting.
