What are the best (basic/mid level) IT books out there

Unanswered Question

Hi everyone. I know there are other better places/forums to ask this question but I have been spending a lot of time here in Cisco forums because of my network study.

My question is if a rookie network guy like me who works in a big financial company, would like to study or at least learn the basics of other fields of IT particulary in Infrastructure and Services (servers, AIX, storage, etc) what are the best books/or best certs to study for. My goal is not even pass a certification, I just need to know what books to buy.

Thanks

I have this problem too.

Hi,

In the past, I use to search Amazon.com and select the book with higher "Avg. Customer Review".

Additionally, I search the vendor KnowledgeBase. i.e. Microsoft, Novell, HP, Red Hat, Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper, etc..

Also visit technical forums like this.

Dandy
