ROADM is part of the equation but you need or to place future services if you have a rough idea of what could be or (and MP included this feature just to guarantee that any possible traffic will be supported without changing MP file or BoM in the network) using Any-To-Any traffic. When you design a ROADM network and you want to be able to reroute the traffic around the
network without knowing what the traffic will be in the future, you need to set up any-to-any services. This feature will guarantee you that MP file loaded in the network and future services (if of course optical results are green) are supported with no change.
