Syslog logging facility

Unanswered Question

I have a couple of 3750 switches which I am trying to setup syslog logging on. Here is my current config.

logging on

logging buffered 16000

logging console critical

logging trap informational

logging facility local1

This works great, but I am seeing an interface log each time someone shuts off their computer, or turns it on. Lots of "up/down" link logs. Is there anyway to filter out the interface link traps?

EDIT: I've been reading here -> ( ) about the logging command, but the document doesn't really describe what the logging facilitys are used for. I understand that there are seven of them, but what purpose do they serve?

I have this problem too.

Under each port from which you do not want link up/down messages configure:

no logging event link-status

5 pts.

Very nice. I didn't know that.

Now, how to keep this kind of information without copying it :(
