If you are running IOS version 12.4(2)T or later you can use the command 'clear ip traffic' to reset ip traffic statistics. Unfortunately, in the older versions the only way to reset the stats is by reloading the router.

Clear IP Traffic CLI:

The Clear IP Traffic CLI feature introduces the clear ip traffic command to clear all IP traffic statistics on a router instead of reloading the router.

did you try "clear counters" ?

I did, but that doesn't clear the IP traffic stats.

I used the command 'no ppp multilink fragmentation', but still seeing fragments. Tried restarting the interface but no change. Do I need to reload the router for this to take effect?
