the fiber is connected on catalyst 3550 on the central site and the catalyst 2960 on the branch site.

i need to configure VPN IPSEC lan-To-LAN using ADSL connection between 2 sites to backup my fiber connection when its down.

Hi,

if i use a router with ios adv.security which is configured my ipsec vpn and its connected to my switch.

how can i configure my vpn tunnel like a backup of my trunk fiber?

Thanks

Regards,

Hassan

Hi Hassan,

As I know, a VPN connection can not act like/be/backup a trunk link. You can open up a question as "Backup trunk link over S2S VPN" in "Network Infrastructure" in "WAN Routing & Switching" section to make sure.

A workaround would be configuring Dynamic routing protocols with high costs, but that would not work if you have same VLANs at both sites.
