Serial1/0:0 is reset, line protocol is down

Hi, we have an E1 running in our remote european office and noticed the interface was in a reset state. I opened a ticket with the vendor but it ended coming back up on it's own during the call.

Any ideas what the "reset" means? I am learning in CCNA that i thought there is only up, down, up, up or down, down.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew

When interface is down, router periodically tries to bring it back by resetting hardware. You took the show interface during one one these events.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
