if the config on the router is MGCP, configure it as MGCP in CUCM

if it's H323 then as H323 under CUCM

if SIP....

you can mix protocols but need to have them configured both on the GW, if you only have H323 or SIP on the GW how to you expect an MGCP config to work??

are you talking about CUCM 5.x?? unity 5.x??

please elaborate on what's happening

what do you mean by phone extension?? that's a DN

if CUCM for inbound and outbound calls just configure a route pattern to use a GW, and inbound a GW inbound CSS that reaches the DN

Thx dear..

I will elaborate my problem for you.

I am using Unified CallManager 5.0 .The problem is that I am able to call local directory numbers, but unable to dial out/in from phones.

I want to know what should I do to configure it.

I am configuring through dial rules, and application dial rules and gateway but gateway is not getting registered with Call Manager.

It is showing see end points. What else I have to do to configure.I am using cisco router 2821 as the gateway.

(Can it be a problem of the different protocols the router and CM is using.)

Moreover, as DN's and phone extensions are two different things,

I have got 100 phones on which I have to configure my extension numbers through 200-299, Now I am making DN's from 100-300 (making large).

Now on DN 100 when I am assinging Name and Lable of a person, there I must assign an extension number like 200, In the CM options I got only prefix. (in my case its like 4299xxx)

so when I call 100 it works (i.e it works on DN) but it should work on extensions like I should dial 200.

hoping you get in my problem.

Warm Regards

OK, we're talking two different things here.

one outbound calls:

you need to configure in first place a gateway, do you already have one?

what u using? MGCP? h323?

Once you got it configured you need to configure a route group, then add the route group to a route list and finally configure a route pattern for outbound calls and assign this route list to it

the second issue sound like you need to use translation patterns to do that

I am using MGCP.

(Does it make any difference as we are using h323 or SIP on 2821 router).

if the config on the router is MGCP, configure it as MGCP in CUCM

if it's H323 then as H323 under CUCM

if SIP....

you can mix protocols but need to have them configured both on the GW, if you only have H323 or SIP on the GW how to you expect an MGCP config to work??
