Hi there,

I applied the uufb on the 4506 switchs yesterday and everythings are seemed to be OK.

but today some printers were can not be conneted through the LAN.

I can see the arp of the printers on L3(Cat6509) but I can't see the mac on L2(Cat4500).

I didn't apply the uufb on the uplink between the L3 switch and the L2 switch.

But I apply the uufb on the other ports even the port connected with the printers.

Are there any limitations or restrictions of the uufb to deply?

Or are there any issues of the print service with the uufb on your network?

Let me know if you have any idea...

Thanks

The UUFB feature blocks unknown unicast traffic flooding and only permits egress traffic with MAC addresses that are known to exit on the port. The UUFB feature is supported on all ports that are configured with the switchport command, including private VLAN (PVLAN) ports. UUFB only works with certain mac-destinationations like:

00 07 03 04 05 07 - UUFB blocks (OK)

01 07 03 04 05 07 - UUFB does NOT block (Not OK)

02 07 03 04 05 07 - UUFB blocks (OK)

03 07 03 04 05 07 - UUFB does NOT block (Not OK)

04 07 03 04 05 07 - UUFB blocks (OK)

05 07 03 04 05 07 - UUFB does NOT block (Not OK)

06 07 03 04 05 07 - UUFB blocks (OK)

07 07 03 04 05 07 - UUFB does NOT block (Not OK)

FE 01 01 01 01 01 - UUFB blocks (OK)

FF 01 01 01 01 01 - UUFB does NOT block (Not OK)
