EIGRP and static routes

Answered Question

I currently have a route that is known by EIGRP redistribution.

sh ip route

Routing entry for

Known via "eigrp 65204", distance 170, metric 63232, type external

Redistributing via eigrp 65204

Last update from on GigabitEthernet1/4, 18:25:55 ago

Routing Descriptor Blocks:

*, from, 18:25:55 ago, via GigabitEthernet1/4

Route metric is 63232, traffic share count is 1

Total delay is 210 microseconds, minimum bandwidth is 44247 Kbit

Reliability 254/255, minimum MTU 1500 bytes

Loading 1/255, Hops 1

I'd like to add a static route to the same destination using a higher administrative distance.

ip route 220

This is to be used as a backup in case of the other route via EIGRP fails. Would this work?

I have this problem too.
