replacing a failed Sup 32

We're running dual Sup32 cards on a Cat-6513 - both cards are running CatOS...There's no MSFC module on the switch. Yesterday, we had a failure of the primary Sup card that, for some reason, took down all the uplinks to the head-end routers as opposed to failing over to the backup SUP. When we contacted Cisco TAC for the Sup32 replacement, we were told that because our Sup card was running the encryption software, we could only get a new SUp32 card with IOS, not CatOS..which means we would have to convert the new SUP32 card running IOS to CatOs...Since we have 2 Sup cards on that switch, I am concern that if we add a new SUP card with IOS on it, it will take over the switch...Has anybody done something similar to this?

Thanks...
