Hi, everybody.
I have some puzzles with LAP, such as 1020
1, With a WLC4400 and a DHCP server, is it right there is no need to configurate 1020, it can get IP address with DHCP, and all is automatic, is that right?
2, Can I ping or manage 1000 by http or https, in a remote lab, I found I cannot ping LAP on WLC and can't access its http service? how to remote manage LAP?
3, what is the difference between WLC's internal DHCP service and an external DHCP service? I heard WLC 4400 can provide two DHCP service, to LAP and Wlan client, is it right?

1.) Correct, the LAP will get an IP address via DHCP by default.
2.) There is no HTTP/HTTPS Telnet/SSH to an LAP, it pulls it's configuration from the controller only. *In 5.0 you can configure telnet or ssh to the AP, but the 1000 series is not supported in 5.0*
3.) DHCP is DHCP, the only difference is if the WLC is the DHCP server for the AP, you do not need to provide for option 43.

How can i configure internal DHCP for AP's?
I tryed it many times. The internal DHCP from 21xx is only for Clients in my opinion.

That's correct, the internal DHCP server on the controllers is for clients only. You cannot use it to provide IP addresses to APs.

You can provide static IP Address to the AP and the clients get DHCP from your WLC.
