DFM vs HUM

We have LMS 3.0 installed, as well as HUM 1.0

Now that we are setting up HUM for use, does anyone see what the value is using for DFM monitoring versus monitoring devices with HUM?

DFM is a (near) real-time alerting tool, +/- in the same domain as HP OpenView NNM. HUM is more for historical trending/baselining, functionally similar to MRTG/RRDTool/Cacti/Concord eHealth/tools that graph.
