Hi,

I have 2 Nos Cisco 4510R-E and each switch is equipped with a blade WS-X4548-GB-RJ45.

Now I have 5 Nos of SUN back up servers ,each server will have 8 NIC cards, from server 4 NIC will be bonded and connect to first Cisco 4510R-E switch and other 4 NIC will be bonded and connect to second Cisco4510R-E,in server term it is called teaming.Like that every server will be connected to both switches.

Now in that case I have to bundle 4 Ports to connect to 4 NICs of a server. Is it not?How to achieve this.

Thanks and Regards,

S.Venkataraman.

You need to carefully plan your design around the cat 4.5K fabric architecture. With that module (i.e. non E-series), each slot in that 4500-E is only getting 6 Gbps. If you actually plan on using the other ports on the blades for other things then you're looking at contention for that port group and slot bandwidth. Please see this page for information about the oversubscription on cat 4.5K gig modules:
