The IPM purge ages collector data out of the IPM database.
IPM stores report data in four time increments: hourly, daily, weekly, monthly. The shorter the reporting interval, the more data is generated, the lower you want to set your purge frequency. For example, hourly data is captured every hour. Depending on the number of collectors, hourly data can take up a lot of space in your database. Therefore, it is recommended you purge old hourly data every month.
Data is rolled up from the realtime data into the historical hourly, daily, weekly, monthly data until it is eventually aged out of the database.
