Hi all, can anyone tell me if when say if I was to use a web application, are the acknowledgements sent to both machines each time data is sent?

Using TCP, the ACK is sent to the source of the data packet from the destination.

so during a conversation between pc's are ack's sent both ways ?

If TCP data is sent both ways, yes. As would normally be the case for web application traffic.
