VIC 4FXS/DID problem

Hi,

we have a cisco 2821 h323 voice gateway with an E1 interface, when we insert a new vic4fxs module the command related to the serial0/0/0:15 are not anymore accepted

router1(config)#interface Serial0/0/0:15

Router version: Version 12.4(13r)T

Any idea?

Likely you don't have enough dsp for bot E1 and 4 fxs, that requires 34 channels and you might have a pvdm2-32 only.

As a temporary workaround you can reduce the number of timeslots in pri-group.

The E1 use 30 or 32 channels?

In case are 30 if I use VIC2-2FXS would be accepted?

30 channels, but you can reduce this number to 28 with pri-group command under controller E1, and nothing bad will happen.

VIC4FSX/DID and VIC2-2FXS use the same number of resources

No, the four ports take 4 channels, and 2 ports takes two.
