serial#

How do I determine the serial# for a PA-4T adapter and once I located the sn, how do I go about determining the device's authenticity? Does Cisco keep a database of all serial numbers that I could check against?

Thanks for any help you could provide.

You can see serial numbers with eithe r"show diag" or physical inspection.

Cisco has the database of all units produced, but you must do this request through eiter your sales or support team.

Thanks for responding...I have the card in front of me but there are different numbers all over the card and I can't tell which one is the SN. I can't do a "show diag" because I don't have access to telnet nor console in. Which number on the adapter is the SN?

Should be an 8 digits number without dashes.
