WAN Router Problem

Dears ,

I have Faced the following message on router that keeps appearing till i restarted the router : %HWIC_HOST-1-RXCLK_MISSING_ERROR: HWIC_HOST: The HWIC Receive Clock signal was n

Which exact IOS are you running ?

Model 2800 , Version 12.4(3d)

Can you upgrade to 12.4(3j) and check again.

Hi, your router may have a bug in the IOS, the closk signal was not detected on the interface. have a look at the Cisco error message decoder, yes you most likely looking at a IOS upgrade.

Hi,

As per Donald Williams's post please open a TAC case. The same also found at cisco site.

%HWIC_HOST-1-RXCLK_MISSING_ERROR: HWIC_HOST: The HWIC Receive Clock signal was not detected for Interface Descriptor Block [hex]

The host termination logic has encountered a fatal error. The logic could not detect the HWIC receive clock for the interface specified by the IDB. This condition indicates a software error.

On 2811 with HWIC-9ESW-POE card installed.

What was the IOS fix for this or am I having a H?W problem, because this router has been running for months with the same IOS version, which is

MOst of the time i experience this issue is when the HWIC card is faulty caused by electrical shock or hit by the lightning...Most on the ADSL HWIC.
