Shutdown dmgtd, then run the NMSROOT/bin/restorebackup.pl script, and point it to your backup. For example, to restore backup generation number 15 from directory /backup/lms, run the following command:

NMSROOT/bin/perl NMSROOT/bin/restorebackup.pl -d /backup/lms -gen 15

Consult the LMS online help for more details. You can also run restorebackup.pl with the -h argument to get usage help.

My case,

I had to change Windows Edition so to reinstall the whole LMS. I did a backup (only once) and I saved it and installed back Windws and LMS.

So what I need to do is to stop dmgtd and use the command with -gen 0 ?

Yes, if you have not enabled multiple generations, then you should only have a 0 directory under your backup location.

Hi jclarke,

Is the restore procedure applies to LMS 3.0.1 as well?

I'm in the process of rebuilding my demo LMS server.

Yes, the restore process is the same in LMS 3.0.1.

That's right you can use the procedure, and use the demo. In real case, you will loose jobs and history logging.
