I want to know that Dynamips is good for ccnp.

and if yes so on whcih hardware it is working good?

I have this problem too.

Hello rb.netsoul

Dynamips is great for router to router simulations but do not offer much in regards to switching. The only thing you can do is configure a router with a switching module so the use of Dynamips is somewhat limited.

You could look into Routersim's network simulator, boson simulators as well but the best experience is working on the real equipment.

Cisco also has a network simulator that can be purchased. I have never used this but looks nice.

I even find that with some of these simulator's that all of the functions in the IOS do not work. For example with routersims simulator I cannot configure nat, dhcp. There seems to be limitations to some of the software but dynamips seems to be very good in regards to the functions available.

Again the best setup is using real equipment but this is often not feasible for many reasons.

Ya I know that real router practics is good one?

but I want to know that if i m using dynamips for practics which hardware configuration require in personal computer or laptop..
