We configured cross-stack channels from 3750s to two 6509s so the choice is to use static configuration (channel-group mode ON), or LACP (channel-group mode ACTIVE).
Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of using either of them?

Hi Edison,
Thanks for your quick response. I was looking for a thread like this, and it helped me a lot.
The reason for my question was we encountered a problem yesterday with a static (ON) configured channel. One switch reset and came up with an clear config, thereby causing a loop to occur.
So indeed it seems better to let LACP configure the channel.

Correct and that's the main thing I addressed on that thread. 'ON' mode does not provide loop prevention. LACP is the way to go.
