Thanks for the reply. I am using 1.3.6. When I try to configure Etheral it cannot connect to the MDS. There is connectivity between the PC and the MDS.

are you trying to remote fcanalyzer to a device which is on the same subnet as a port on your IPS or have a static route moving traffic through to your remote machine via a IPS port? (I suspect yes :)

I'm not sure of a work around but one of the Cisco guys might know a work around on here or you should log a TAC case :)

Unfortunately I could not get it working to a subnet which was being sent over a IPS port :(

The only way around for me was to have a workstation not on the same subnet as those on used by the IPS.
