You have 18months to attempt your first lab after you pass the written. You have three years to pass the lab after you pass the written before you have to take the written again.

I don't know if there is a limit of lab attempts before you must redo the written. AFAIK it's just a time constraint (and $$)

There is no limit to the number of times you take the lab, except that you have to leave at least 30 days between each attempt. But you would be hard-pushed to take many attempts within your three years, because the booking schedule is almost permanently full, even with a booking horizon currently of 8 months.

You have to make your first attempt within 18 months of passing the written. If you fail, you have to try again within 12 months. After 3 years, you have to take the written again anyway. I shall soon be in that position myself unless I pass on the next attempt.
