i have a situation, i want to enable the ip rtp compression betweeh hq and remote site's routers. here is the scenrio..

a. HQ router ethernet interface is connected to satellite modem, and the remote site router is also connected thru ethernet to satellite modem , i can't enable ip rtp commpression, as it prompts an error,," this encapsulation does not permit the compression on this interface "

it is very important i should enable compression as a design requirement and due to bandwidth constraints.

iam looking for a way as how to enable the compression in ethernet interface..

you cant enable the cRTP on ethernet link, this feature is available on PPP or MLPPP.

yeah,i know ,cannot enable it,, but iam looking for any alternate way,, without adding a serial interface,,,

is it possible to do it thru qos settings, or can we make it thru gre tunnel interfaces.
