Adding CCM Subscriber for CRS Cluster

Unanswered Question
Apr 19th, 2008

We have a single CCM 4.1(3) Subscriber and a Publisher supporting a cluuster containing CRS 4.0(5).

If a new Subscriber is to be added to the CCM cluster to act as the 'primary' Subscriber, what changes are required in the CRS cluster?

Currently, there is a default Device Pool which homes all phones onto the Subscriber (with the Publisher as Standby). The intention would be update the Device Pool to list the new Subscriber as the 'primary' Subscriber, with the second Subscriber as the 'standby' Subscriber. If the CRS JTAPI resources are to be homed to this new Subsriber too, is it a case of prepending the JTAPI and RM JTAPI Providers in CRS with the new Subscriber? Is anything else required?

I have this problem too.

Hi there,

sorry for the late response, was crawling the newsgroup for unanswered question only right now.

Well the scenario is divided in two topics:

1) Resources allocations, so as you said device pools, you will need to move the devices on the new Sub

2) CTI management if you are to make your sub also the secondary CTI Manager for the Pub you will need to launch postinstall.exe and update the desktops and rerun the drectory setup on the IPCC Express side from Control Center just to update the secondary CTI Manager information, once those settings get changed you could stop the CTI Manager running on the previous sub and start it on your new sub.

Hope this helps,

Riccardo

Hi Riccardo,

Thanks very much for the reply. Are these two activities independent, i.e. can the Device Pools be updated to use the new Subscriber, leaving the CTI Manager configuration on the existing Sub/Pub?

Hi again,

yes they are.

The CTI Manager knows about all the pooled resources within one CCM Cluster, because of SDL communications, there could only be two CTI Managers configured per application and one is active and the second is in a hot standby.

Riccardo
