SSH on IOS 12.1(27)

Unanswered Question

I need to enable SSH and disable telnet on my 2611 router. David Davis' article at says that SSH1 is available with IOS 12.1(3) but that a DES/3DES version of the IOS is required.

1. Is 12.1(27) later than 12.1(3)? Yeah, I know this sounds like a dumb question but every company seems to number software versions differently.

2. How do I tell if c2600-i-mz.121-27.bin has DES/3DES included in it?

Thank you.

I have this problem too.

1) Yes

2) The filename must contain k9 on it. Else, it doesn't have a security feature which is needed for SSH. The filename you posted does not support SSH.
