Mail exchange best location

hii guys

i am using 6509 as a core switch to my network, i am planing to make mail exchange2007, that will provide service to local users and also i want to publish this e-mail so the clients can access via internet, so can you tell me what is the best scenario or layout for this design

Are you planing to have unity in place?

exchange 2007 uses roles now. your mbx server, hub transport and cas server roles should be located inside the org. not sure how you are vlanning on your 6500, but place an edge transport server or isa box within the dmz. then publish owa etc.
