Do I need flow control for ZX gigabit ethernet trunk?

Greetings

I have two 6513 connected over a 40km ZX GBIC fiber trunk using a lease line. Neither side has flow control enabled but I'm starting to see output drops on the trunk interface from one of the switches.

Would enabling flow control be a good solution here?

What is the committed rate on the leased line?

The leased line is a "black fiber". To my knowledge the capacity is sufficient for our Gbics

Hello Fredrik,

Output drops occur when the interface gets congested and sometimes due to hardware failure.

Drops can occur during short bursts of data or constant high data rate than output interface line speed.

We have to identify the traffic and how the interface gets congested. The following link provides more info on output drops
