cisco mst and third party rstp

hi,

we need to interconnect our lan ( switchs cisco 2950 3750 configuring with one mst region ( 2 instances)with a dslam allied telesis imap_9100. On it ,by default stp is disable and the mode is rstp ;

So my question is:

If i activate rstp on the imap what would be the result ??

The only issue that has to be taken care is the configuration that needs to have 2 instances, instance 0 empty and instance 1 has all other vlans.

I read that mstp is backward compatible with mst

Imap will listen for ist BPDU.
