• 32 Gbps forwarding bandwidth

• Forwarding rate based on 64-byte packets:

• 38.7 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48TS, Catalyst 3560G-48PS, Catalyst 3560G-24TS, and Catalyst 3560G-24PS);

• 13.1 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560-48TS and Catalyst 3560-48PS);

• 6.5 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560-24TS and Catalyst 3560-24PS);

• 2.7 Mpps (Cisco Catalyst 3560-8PC)

From this doc:

Thats what I read also. so does this mean if I get the 3560 48 TS which I think is 10/100mg then the backplane is 13.1Mpps?

The 32Gbps figure is the one you are interested in. This is in effect the switch fabric available on the switch. As you have 48 10/100 ports then you should not get oversubscription ie. it should be non-blocking.

If you had a 10/100/1000 48 port 3560 then you would get oversubscription on the switch fabric.
