this bug does concern the act, that a reverse lookup for CS discovery fails. The bug notes states as a workaround to configure a hosts file.
Is this really the only way or is there a patch availabel form TAC, meanwhile?
nslookup can resolve forward and reverse, whereas NMSROOT/bin/resolver.pl can only resolve forward.
As the customer has around 5000 devices, a host file is not really an option ...
does anybody know if there is another solution for this or how to troubleshoot any possible config error?

The hosts file is the only option. The patch is not ready yet, but will be part of LMS 3.1.
