Shared Line behavior

Hi,

We have discovered the following scenario in our environment and would like to know if this is normal behavior and why?

Example:

User A is on Line 1

Line 1 is shared with User B

A second call comes in for User A and it's answered by User B

The phone directory on the base device records a Received call for User B but no Missed Call for User A.

If this exact scenario were to occur when User A is not on Line 1, the Missed Call does get recorded.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi Erik,

We took a few minutes to set this up again and for our tests it didn't matter if A was on the phone or not, if the Shared Line call was answered on B no Missed Call was shown on A.

Hope this helps!

Hi Erik,

Good question! I just went through this with one of our users. We did some extensive testing in the lab just to make sure of why this is. The Shared Line behaviour is such that the IP Phone A knows that the call was answered at B and does therefore not see this as a Missed Call. Which I guess makes sense :)

Hope this helps!

Hi Rob!

That does make sense but did you try both scenarios in the lab? For example if IP Phone A is idle, the Missed Call will show up even if answered at B.

Is that true? I`m sure if phone A rings and it also appears on Phone B, the call will show up in the missed calls on both phones? I`m sure I saw that in 4.13 I thought that was the reason why you now have the "more" button now in directories

Thanks for taking the time Rob!

One last thing, what version of Firmware is on the phones?
