SIP Gateway to Gateway consultative call transfer help

Unanswered Question

We have 2821's each with 2 PRIs. They run SIP and IOS 124-9.T6. Consultative call transfer where each call leg traverses a different gateway do not work. The transferring phone is a 7960 running SIP 7.3(8.8 didn't work either). Cisco cannot provide a conclusive answer but suggests this will not work. Any thoughts? Can it be made to work using SIP & H.323? We are not using call manager.

Thanks,Steve

You need to use a IP to IP gateway or try out with the command allow-connections sip to h323 and the reverse under

voice service voip.

Thanks! However your response, while helpful, just adds to my frustration. Cisco says the IP voice feature set is the correct one not IP2IP gateway. They also said H.323 has nothing to do with this problem. Errr. I'll try your suggestions. Thanks!!

I tried booting IOS c2800nm-adventerprisek9_ivs-mz_gw.124-15.T4.bin which supposedly contains the IP2IP gateway feature set. It will not load. The router reverts back to c2800nm-ipvoicek9-mz.124-15.T4.bin which is IP voice feature set. After booting I added the suggested allow commands. These did not fix the problem. Is anyone else out there doing this type of transfer with SIP between gateways?

Thanks,Steve
