override the priority received from pc which attached to 7960 phone

From the guide:

switchport priority extend cos value:

Set the IP phone access port to override the priority received from the PC or the attached device.

my configuration:

interface FastEthernet0/2

switchport access vlan 6

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode access

switchport voice vlan dot1p

switchport priority extend cos 5

mls qos cos 2

mls qos trust device cisco-phone

mls qos trust cos

spanning-tree portfast

end

I send packet from PC which attached to 7960 with TOS 7, then monitor this switch interface and found all received packet(originated from that pc) has a TOS with value 2 which I think it should be 5.

the "2" was defined by " mls qos cos 2", I thought the "2" should only be set when incoming packet does not have COS setup, and command "switchport priority extend cos 5" should be more preferable.

why? Thanks in advance.

I have this problem too.
