I have BARS Version 4.0.12 installed on my Cisco Call Manager and the Backup location is a network drive with the right permissions for the user I am logging in as.when I run the Backup utility it gives the following Error:
[08:50:49 PM] Archive file size is less than staging directory. Check if disk space is available on storage location.
[08:50:49 PM] Could not build archive successfully.
I have over 80GB free space on this network drive so that eliminated a space issue
I read somewhere about some 2GB restriction due to the CDR files growing.I don't have this issue since the backup way is less than 1GB
Surprisingly when I set backup to backup to the Subscriber it works fine
Please can anyone help with a sloution to sort this out
Thanks

You might be hitting bug CSCee43938.
If there is enough space, and the message is still displayed, it could be
because of the following:
The problem occurs only when a single file has a size more than 2 GB. This
usually is the CDR database.
Purging old CDR records or deselecting CDR database backup during BARS
configuration can avoid this situation.
Also...
The problem arose because the database size has increased more than 2GB and
BARS is unable to create the archive properly when a single file size is more
than 2 GB. Try to delete the records of the database which are not required and
then do a Backup.
OR it can be a problem with NIC card settings on the destination file server.

Checked the Link Duplex / Speed on the server to which they were backing up to and it was
set to " Auto Detect ". Changed it to Full / 100 and now the backups work fine.
Give those a try.

Hi Thanks for your reply
The total size of the backup is actually less than 1GB as I mentioned in my notes above.
I will check the NIC settings on the backup server to make sure its set to Full duplex and see if that fixes the issue

The Backup Server NIC is nailed to 100FD while the CCM is set to Auto.
could this be the issue?
I plan to change the CCM Setting this night.Hope this would not affect anything as this is a live server

It's possible. I saw other cases where this was a factor.

Yeah. I have the same issue for BARS 4.0(11), Just changed CCM server and backup server NICs to 100/Full, backup succeeded.
