Hi, you have two choices:

- blind upgrade to 12.4(3j), it's possible that won't happen anymore.

or

- in "show tech" at some point there is a stack trace, paste it into output decoder tool (requires customer-level CCO access), this can give you an idea of the what is happening actually.

Paolo, I've noticed you've recommended 12.4(3j) on other posts instead of a higher release like 12.4(19). Is your thinking since 3j is current, it avoids possible new bugs that might be caused by features introduced with higher 12.4 releases?

Hi, yes my line of thinking is like that, also consider the latest 12.4(3) is the default for shipping with new routers, so it seems they focus on it having the less bugs possibile.

Thanks. Hadn't noticed what new routers ship with, interesting point.

Hi,

Can you please send the show region and show stack output.

Hi!

were there any changes before the issue? is this the first time that the issue has happened on this chassis? what is the current status?

The error you encountered is a "Less Common Types of System Crash"

See this url :

I would recommend you to open a TAC case for the issue so that a dedicated TAC Engineer looks at it.
