Well Mr. Manjunath,

Native VLAN

When you use the IEEE802.1Q trunkport, all frames are tagged except those on the VLAN configured as the "Native VLAN" for the port. Frames on the Native VLAN are always transmitted untagged are normally received untagged. Therefore, when Access Point is connected to the switchport, the Native VLAN Configured on the Access Point match the Native VLAN configured on the switchport.

Cheers!!!!!!

Hi,

Can you please send sample configuration for this concept.

Manju.

Manju

The default native vlan is 1. If you wanted to change this you can do the following

int gi2/1

switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport mode trunk

switchport trunk native vlan 999

The last line sets the native vlan to be 999.
