Alternate platform for Frame Relay switch & Access server

If you are looking for something currently sold by Cisco, probably the lowest cost model that you could use for this would be an 1800 series modular router.

For interface cards, you could use a couple of WIC-2Ts to setup a 4 port frame relay setup (1 HQ and 3 branch offices). They also have a WIC-2A/S if you wanted to use the older serial port style.

For a terminal server, you could use some of the high density asynch serial HWICs (HWIC-8A or HWIC-8A/S-232 depending on what you want to do).

Of course, you're paying a lot more for this type of a setup than you would getting older used Cisco equipment.
