assign the interface with ipv6 address anycast

Hello there, what cisco router actually do when we assign interface with ipv6 address [xxx] anycast? in the way it works? what pool of address we can use for anycast? i wonder about ipv4. i think i could also implement ipv4 anycast by assign same ipv4 address on more than one router. so what the different with ipv6 anycast? tq

An anycast address is an address that is assigned to a set of interfaces that typically belong to different nodes. A packet sent to an anycast address is delivered to the closest interface as defined by the routing protocols in use identified by the anycast address.Anycast addresses can be used only by a router, not a host, and anycast addresses must not be used as the source address of an IPv6 packet
