Hello,

I have an issue here and i need your help.A cisco 2821 router hangs after some period of activity. When i started the router it boots normaly and just before the enable to mode the router hangs and does not respond to input. When I change the config register to 0*2142 the router starts normaly and i am able to type in commands.

I change the ios to spservices but the router was not able to boot.I am suspecting the nvram and thinking of upgrading the rommon.Sometimes the router does not respond to input all. What do you think about this?

What do you suggest in this situation?

Expecting your answer.

Thank you.

To upgrade ROMMON to your router, use the following IOS EXEC-mode command:

upgrade rom-monitor file tftp://path/filename

For example,

Router>enable

Password:

Router#upgrade rom-monitor file tftp://10.1.2.3/rommon/C2801_RM2.srec.123-8r.T9

Loading ...

RM1 is a factory programmed rommon and RM2 is the upgrade rommon, user

can upgrade rommon using IOS's upgrade rommon feature.

For 2811/2821/2851 latest rommons are

C2800NM_RM1.srec.124-1r and

C2800NM_RM2.srec.124-1r
