IP RIB Update and BGP Router Processes spiking to 100%

I have a Cisco 7206VXR router running BGP. Currently the CPU processes "IP RIB Update" and "BGP Router" are constantly spiking to 100% and then dropping again. It does this non stop. Can someone please give me some guidance on why this may be the case.
