CWDM Y-Cable (WDM-1300-1550-S)

In the document:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/modules/ps5455/ps6575/product_data_sheet0900aecd8029d01b_ps708_Products_Data_Sheet.html

Figure 12 shows a WDM splitter cable for Non-CWDM applications. Under the picture says "The same configuration works with LX/LH and ZX GBICs or SFPs"

I don't understand how the splitter cable is connected. It seems that multilple splitter cables are needed?

Can this configuration then be used instead of a single-wavelength OADM and appropiate SFP?

there will be insertion of 2 splitter cables on each side(one for rx ,one for tx) on dark fibre.
