Intermittent ping failures, 4006

I am getting intermittent ping failures between some servers on my 4006. They are all on the same subnet, I have tried different modules and different switch ports but get the same inconsistent and random results. Where do I start looking for errors on the switch itself?

What code version are you running ?

Besides checking the code, you will want to check the arp tables for each of the servers. Make sure the other server is in the table and make sure that the entry is not bouncing or changing.

Also, check the CAM table on the switch and make sure the entries for each server are present and stable, too.

Thanks for the tips... turns out that a VMWare server that was brought up had a virtual adapter with an IP on a subnet that conflicted with an existing network elsewhere in our organization. Disabling the adapter immediately corrected the issue.
